Water
Today we rode 509kms between Swakopmund and Tolou´s
Lodge in Namibia.
Normally they have 120 mm of rain per year here. Apparently
78 of those came two days ago and the rains the last month
have made the desert bloom and this should have been the
first time in 35 years. It is nice but unreal to ride through
a blossoming desert.
The backside of it all are the rivers and brooks that we
have to cross one way or another. This photo shows Ian crossing
the water like in any European enduro.

Namibia, and Botswana, are a contrast to the rest of Africa we have
seen. There are not many people around and I have more a feeling of
being in the outback of Australia, than in southern Africa. Ian, alone,
on his BMW on his way south over one of thousands of hills.
Tolou´s Lodge, where we stay the night, has 504 kilometres to
the nearest hospital and 130 to the post office. A contact with Fjällbonäs
could be possible, nicely hidden between mountains in the middle of
the desert. Who said Lappland is isolated?
