Hardship?

When PG asked me if I wanted to join as service driver/mechanic/spare rider, I had the most horrible visions of all hardships waiting me.
As some of you may have noticed, our PG is suffering from wild fantasy. Sure, the days have been long from time to time, but is it exhausting to stay at the Holiday Inn Prague, the Grand Hotel Gaziantep, Cham Palace Damascus, SAS Radisson Aqaba or Sonesta Beach Resort Taba?

Not to mention the place where we have spent the last few days. With the hospitable Mr Nagati who is vice-president with Tanganyika Oil, whose little holiday house we are now guests in.

The cars are parked behind locked gates and we have a houseman and two maids as back-up service. PG’s cooking has not yet been put to the test, and this is without us losing one gram of weight on this exhausting expedition down to Egypt, where every little exertion quickly has been compensated with breakfast, lunch or dinner, including cake for the coffee-breaks.

I feel a bit cheated, but according to our tour guide, the hardships will begin Friday. I’ll come back with a new hotel list.
