Last snow?

Between -2 degrees and + 7 have been the day’s temperatures and we have covered 650kms.

Let´s hope that the snow in Rumania was the last snow we’ll see.

When we left Rumania to cross into Bulgaria, we noticed we are far from home. Everyone at the border wants to show he is important, Rumania was worst. First there was a transit tax and then a bridge tax for the bridge leading into Bulgaria .

Finally we had to pay a road tax for the cars, even though we had paid a road tax when we entered. We paid twice, first with euros, then with the local leu. This means three times for using the roads. A poor country like Bulgaria has to live off its visitors and the only solution is to accept it.

We crossed Bulgaria in a day and reached Erdine late in the evening. Bought a whisky, Black Dee, at the border to Turkey for the celebration of the new year. Booked into hotel Sultan and the three of us managed to drink enough to sink the level to the top of the label – not a big party. The advantage is, I can write this at 05:45 and will be in the saddle again at 07:30.
