Snowman

The day´s temperatures were between -6 and + 2 degrees with a constant snowfall. I have ridden 686 kilometres between Sassnitz and Prague. We started at 02:45 and arrived 16:00.

The rear tyre I mounted at North Cape was finished after the first 370 kms today. Well done, I think.

It started snowing at North Cape and the low pressure has followed us all the way to Prague. Riding on salted roads and being snowed on is a challenge. Today I have wiped the visor with my glove every half kilometre, 1265 times to be exact. Road E 55 to Cheko is narrower than my enduro track in Fjällbonäs and the traffic was extremely slow. Where the hell is everybody going? If everybody is going to Africa, the conditions will be truly dusty.

Snow depth at the border from Germnay was impressive. This was the first time we had to show our passports, even if the country belongs to the EU. The roads on the other side were beyond all praise. The tracks after the trucks were 20-30 cms deep in places. With a dirty visor these tracks are invisible and then the front tyre lets go. I had two horrible incidents today, but luckily I was fast enough to use the centrifugal force in the front wheel.

In Prague Mikko knew a hotel with a locked garage. We checked into Holiday Inn but from a protection view the garage was doubtful. After some discussions, where I tried to park in front of the reception, where they would be in full view, I realised it would not work. The feeling of losing all three bikes was not nice. So I will sleep in the garage with the cars and the bikes, the safest solution.
