Sheep transport
Today, Lukas and I started early to get visas
for Kirgizistan at the embassy in Tashkent. The idea is to separate
and for the two of us to ride through Kirgizistan to Kazakstan
and Rikard, Stefan and Cam will continue through Uzbekistan
to Kazakstan, where we will all meet again. The distance that
Lukas and I will take is too far for the cars in two days and
this is the reason. I am not sure if we will make it in two
days, either. There is a risk if we have technical difficulties,
which will disturb the whole plan, but it’s a risk we’ll
have to take. We simply want to get up into the mountains with
corners and high mountain tops. |

At a tank stop today we came upon a Vaz Lada that seemed to carry
a lot of weight. I started checking the car and found a mighty Babuschka
in there, plus a huge driver and three blokes in the backseat. Then
there were also a sheep in the back and two other sheep in the luggage
compartment. Alive and in good spirits! Imagine the uses of a Vaz
Lada. There is a picture for the marketing managers to broaden the
interest for this Russian car.
