I have a background and a heritage like most people. I was
born and grew up in Sweden, the taxpayers’ paradise. The Swedes
must be the people in the world with the highest tax pressure. I realised
this when I started my little one-man company PG Racing and saw that
I was paying tax on the taxes I paid. This, without being scientific,
must be the point where the teachings of Martin Luther don’t
hold up anymore. Had I known this when I was 20, I might have become
a rebel. Now I am 45 and the word rebel sounds like work, so I have
to rebel in words, instead. During the 20th century anybody who was
indecent enough to earn more than everybody else was taken care of
by the law of the street which, through parliament and congress, managed
to develop a tax system to be compared with a Rolls Royce. Robin Hood
2.0, taking from everybody and giving to everybody. It’s a loop,
a never-ending wheel.
Having drunk this milk all my life, I feel the need to meet the government
of Georgia and give them a proposal. The nature to be admired in their
mountains should be taxed! The views and the biking roads are of such
a class and style that I find it impossible that they should be for
free. A view tax should be introduced immediately. We have this in
Sweden. If you own a house with a nice view, for instance over the
sea, you pay more than if you are hidden away in a dump. The tax authorities
in Georgia must be informed of this. Until then, enjoy these photos,
tax-free.
I left the snow and travelled south, but caught up with it again today.
This is snow 2,000mtrs up.
Our car drivers, Stefan and on this photo Rickard, have had an exciting
and long day. The mountain passage of 140kms war no playing-ground
and they had a Christmas on Wheels.
